Bob Thweatt Obituary

Bob Thweatt, 77 ESCONDIDO -- Bob Thweatt of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 in Mena. He was born on August 25,1933 in Hatfield, Arkansas to the late Melvin and Myrtle Thweatt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and a friend to all who knew him. Bob was married to Frances Coffman Thweatt for 54 years. He was a truck driver for Escondido Ready Mix until he retired. He was a resident of Escondido for 36 years, raising a family before returning to Arkansas. He served his country in the United States Navy. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Thweatt of Mena, Arkansas; sons, Ron Thweatt and wife Lynn of Phoenix, Arizona, and Larry Thweatt of Mena, Arkansas; daughters, Darlene Carter and husband William of Escondido, California, and Cynthia Beerbohm and husband Kevin of Valley Center, California; grandchildren, Sarah Calahan and husband Adam, Zachary Thweatt, Christine Carter, Austin and Trevor Beerbohm; great-grandchildren, Conner and Adison Calahan; and uncle, Alan "Uncle Tom" Hamilton and wife Anita. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Myrtle Thweatt; and baby brother, Billy Thweatt. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Beasley- Wood Chapel. Interment was held at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena with Military Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com
