Dear Linda and family,
Although Rod and I had not been in contact for many years it doesn't diminish the fact that he and I and several others from the EHS class of '64 were the best of friends. School chums, working together at Rube's Country Corner, and working for him at Wimp & Rods were the highlights of growing up in Escondido. And the hunting and fishing trips!! Volumes could be written! He will be sorely missed.
So glad, also,to see Rick, Johnny, and Brian. Rod can be proud of his family and vice-versa.
Know that prayers and warm thoughts are with you and yours in this difficult time. Cling to the blessed hope. 1 Th.4:13-18

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Rest in peace Rod and we'll all see you soon.

Rodney,
Thank you for the love and care you have given me over the last 18 years. I am so glad we fell in love and became husband and wife. You were always so kind and thoughtful of me. Thank you for all the times you asked me out to dinner because you knew I was tired after work. You never missed my birthday or our wedding anniversary. I have cards for each one and they will bring a smile to my face when I read them in the coming years. You always picked out the most beautiful cards. We had some wonderful times visiting the kids in Oregon and our trips to Illinois & Missouri and Maui, Hawaii. You had one more place you wanted to go, Alaska. I wanted to do that for you after you healed from the surgery you were supposed to have. I will miss your smile, and your I Love You's and your hugs and kisses. I love you with all of my heart and I wanted to bring you home from the hospital so much. But God had other plans for you. One day we will be reunited in his love.
Love always your wife, Linda

Linda and Family, We are sorry to hear about your loss and Praying for you.
Met Rod six years ago when my son, Micah and I went to Tip Top to present a buyer letter to him. Micah was with the Vista FFA. We were instant friends since he found out I grew up on a cattle ranch in Idaho. He always took a few minutes to visit especially before Micah deployed to Afganistan this Spring. We will miss his quirky smile...

I remember Rodney (as he was called in those days) way back to elementary school. He always had a smile and was quick to laugh. He was a true friend to all he knew. One of the most genuine guys you could know. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Although I haven't seen him for many years, I know he will be missed by all who knew him.
