Ellen Young Obituary

Ellen B. Young CARLSBAD -- Ellen Young passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Kaiser in San Diego, surrounded by family members. She was born in Chester, Pa., daughter of Clyde and Dorothy Beckett. Ellen graduated from Burlingame High School, Burlingame, Calif. She worked for United Airlines, first as a Stenographer, and later as a Stewardess for United Airlines until she married. After marrying in 1945, the family moved to Hawaii for five years, then back to Northern California for the next 45 years, where she made many good and long lasting friends. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at El Camino Hospital in Northern California for many years. In 2008, she moved to Carlsbad, Calif., to be close to her son and grandchildren. Ellen enjoyed socializing. She is remembered as always having a smile and never complaining. She was described as a sweet person by the people that worked with her. Ellen now rests with her parents, Clyde "Joe" and Dorothy "Dot" Beckett in Perris Valley Cemetery. She is survived by a son, Ronald L. Young, and two grandsons, Matthew B. Young, and Evan C. Young of Santa Ana , Calif.: one daughter, Linda Smith of New Hampshire: and a great- Aunt, Mrs. Wilma C.O. Beckett of Oklahoma. Graveside services for family only, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 4, at the Perris Valley Cemetery in Perris, Calif. Linda and Ron, I am so sorry for your loss. I'm imagining Ellen on a cruise being the belle of the ball once again, dancing and smiling. She was so happy then.
