Timothy Lewis Obituary

Timothy D. Lewis 1954 ~ 2010 SAN MARCOS -- Timothy D. Lewis, GySgt, USMC (Ret.), entered heaven's scenes on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, the 235th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Tim was born in Gerard, Pa., to Grace and Carl Lewis. He graduated from Sharon High School in 1972 and enlisted in the Marine Corps, completing recruit training at MCRD, Parris Island, SC. Tim spent his Marine Corps career as an amphibious tractor equipment repairman and upon his retirement in 1993, went to work at the Base Maintenance Division, Camp Pendleton. He worked in the Recycling Division and the Pump Maintenance Division, receiving numerous awards for his superior performance of duty. He and his wife, Kylie, were married on March 8, 1997 and lived in San Marcos. Tim's abiding passion was his family. He spent countless hours with his wife and his two sons, Jacob, 13, and Dylan, 10, attending baseball games, youth martial arts practice and skateboarding outings. He set the example for all who would be husbands and fathers. Tim is survived by his wife, Kylie; his two children, Jacob and Dylan; his sister, Glenda Conrad and her husband, Gene; and his nephew, Chip Conrad of Munhall, Pa. A celebration of his life will be held at Mission Hills Church, San Marcos, at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a memorial fund for the boys established at Bank of America, account # 11388-72709. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com

Tim was a man that left a lasting impression on me of his great character and genuineness. I'll always remember the fun times we had with Tim helping coach Dylan's baseball team. Tim always had great stories to share about Dylan and Jake. It was easy to see how much his family meant to him. Our prayers are with you all during this difficult time of loss. God bless.

Tim was truly a great man in every regard. Being your neighbors, even though years back, we all have special memories of Tim. He was the cool fatherly figure to all the kids on the block. My son Luis enjoyed spending time working with Tim and his boys on projects in the garage. To say that Tim was a good father is an understatement, he was a remarkable man that touched the lives of so many people..my family included. Our love and prayers go out to you and your family.

Kylie, I'm sorry I was unable to attend Tim's Celebration of Life. I wish I could have been there because I heard it was beautiful, but sad and that you were amazingly strong. Keep your family close to you during the Holiday and when you return school, your work family will surround with the support you need. Love. Lori
