Betty Forsha Obituary

In Loving Memory Betty M. Forsha SAN MARCOS -- Betty Forsha, formerly of Latrobe, Pa., peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in La Jolla, Calif. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Joseph Forsha, in 1992, and by her parents and siblings. Her companion in her later years, Frankie Critelli, passed away in 2009. Betty was born on May 16, 1921 in Terry, Montana to Harry and Mabel McCrea. She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1939 and then wed Joseph Forsha in Texas in 1943 while he was in the Army Air Corps. Betty and Joe lived in Latrobe for many years, where Joe ran Latrobe Auto Sales, a Chrysler- Plymouth dealership, and Betty was a homemaker and mother of four children. Betty enjoyed golf, bridge, gin, bowling, her friends, and volunteering at the Little Shop at Latrobe Hospital while she lived in Latrobe. In 1975, after Joe retired, Betty and Joe moved to San Marcos to be close to their children and grandchildren, where they lived the remainder of their lives and continued playing golf and cards, spending time with family and keeping in touch with their many wonderful friends from Pennsylvania, as well as making many new friends in California. Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in- law, Betsy and Mike Maiden of La Quinta, Calif., and Cindy and John Glancy of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; her son Jeff Forsha of Mooresville, N.C.; and her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda Forsha and Hugh Davies of La Jolla, Calif. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif.
