Kurt Jaffke Obituary

Kurt George Jaffke, 81 WILDOMAR -- Kurt George Jaffke was born in Stolp, Germany in 1929, to Richard and Frieda Jaffke. His childhood was spent in Germany, where he completed his high school education. The war began in his early teens and often he told stories of how his life was during the war, which impressed upon us how truly a miracle it was that he survived. When the war ended, he enrolled as a shoemaker apprentice, which was the beginning of his lifelong passion for making shoes. In 1952, he migrated to California where he continued his career as an orthopedic shoemaker, and started his family. His shoe making craftsmanship and compassion to help people is what Kurt lived for. Kurt's life came to a peaceful end on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife, Dean; his children, Susan and Ralph; his grandchildren, Nikolas, Annalisa, Natalie, Jason, Annamarie, Kyle, and Alicia; and his great- granddaughter, Jasmine. Kurt was a loving husband, father and friend. He will be dearly missed. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com
