This photo is sitting on our end table in our house in Los Barriles. A town where we had many trips down Baja to Martin Verdugos Campground with Dewey. He used to call my husband Carnada because our last name is Bayt. When we built this house in 2014 we also put a sign up out front that says "Casa Carnada" in memory of our dear friend Dewey My husband also did demolition for Dewey on many jobs.....Thank You For all of The Laughs and Friendship Dewey

Dewey and I had a long working relationship. He could always be counted on for a "job well done". He was always good for a joke and a laugh. Ursula and family, may you find comfort from the Lord, each other when you share memories and love from friends.

Our deepest condolences to Ursula and family. I had the pleasure of working with Dewey for about 21 years and he was a loyal, hard working gentleman. We were all privileged to have him as a co-worker. He will be greatly missed. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you today and always. Rest in peace.

Having the privilege to work for and with Dewey on a number of construction projects we became good friends and that I will cherish for the rest of my life!I will miss the phone calls back and forth sharing the knowledge you had of the trades and the laughs we had over people and places we worked! Our thoughts are with Ursula and family during this time .

As a classmate of Dewey, I remember some of the good times we had at OHS. Although it has been some time since I last saw Dewey (20th reunion of class of '62), I can still recall the good times at OHS. Dewey was a good friend that I will never foget. My heart felt condolences go out to his family. God Bless you Dewey and may you rest in peace.

Dewey and Ursula's Wedding Day
Henry Ristic

Dewey and I served together with the 42nd MP Group in 1966 and 1967. I saw him off as he left for Flight school and I was there when he married my cousin Ursula. I was honored to be his best man at their wedding. Throughout my life Dewey was always there as a friend and role model.
His battle with Cancer is now over - he fought the fight well and demonstrated once again the kind of exceptional person he really was. My fight continues and I can only hope that I can be as strong as Dewey was right up until the end.
Dewey will always be remembered by all of us at the 42nd MP Group as one of the best to wear the uniform. Rest in Peace dear friend and fellow comrade.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ursula and the family - we share in your loss and sorrow.
To Death:
What you took we cannot replace -
His being, his essence, a smile on his face,
But what we have you cannot touch -
Our thoughts, our dreams, our memories and such,
You cannot touch ... until you take us too.
Dewey, rest in peace and know that we will all miss you very much.
With Love,
Your friends Henry & Marilyn Ristic

I don't think there are sufficient words that can express the love for my older Brother.
- A Fishermans Prayer -
I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep
That in His mercy I be judged
Big enough to keep.

Dewey was my friend and co-worker for almost 30 years. He was funny, polite (although he loved to tease) and was always there when you needed him (well sometimes it took an olde fashion donut or bottle of Reposado). I will miss you my friend, especially our long talks about fishing and our children, and oh how he loved them all! Our thoughts and blessings are with Ursula and his family during this time of loss. Rest in Peace Dear Dewey. Love, Robert and Vicki Hamilton and Family.

On behalf of those who served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam I want to express my deepest and most sincere condolences to Ursula and ll of Dewey's family.
Dewey was a helicopter pilot and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (2) and Air Medal for his actions. We know Dewey was proud to have served his country and proud to call himself a Blackhorse Trooper.
Our thoughts are with his family now. May he rest in peace.
Respectfully,
Allen Hathaway

I don’t know a single person who can close his eyes, think of Dewey, and not smile. He was that kind of guy. And anyone who knew him would agree.
This photo was taken in LA Bay (Mexico) in 2006 at Dan Meritt’s “Fortress on the Bay.” This was the last time I was there with Dewey. Dan was there – as well as Tom Richardson (pictured with Dewey), Bill Miholich (my brother-ion-law), and myself. Not sure but I think Terry Scott showed up before we left. Sorry the picture isn’t better. For some reason I didn’t take the usual 1,000 shots that trip. Guess I was just happy sitting with the guys and telling stories.
My heart aches for Ursula and the kids. I’m just glad to have been with Dewey on his last day, seen what beautiful women the girls have become, and get caught up with Brant and see what a fine man he’s become. Don’t know why the hugs I shared with Ursula those last few days were warmer than the hundreds before. Guess we know who had something to do with that.
Dewey was rare. I’m sorry that I’ll probably never know a better person or have a better friend. See you later Dew!
