Doris Hulbert Obituary

Doris Linnea Hulbert ESCONDIDO -- Doris Linnea Hulbert was born in Daggett, Michigan on January 2, 1916, and died on November 30, 2010. She was a long-time resident in the area, living in Vista from 1948 until her family moved to Escondido in 1967. Doris was a registered nurse and worked in the labor and delivery room at Palomar Hospital from 1957 until she retired in 1985. She assisted in the delivery of countless babies and provided care and comfort to their mothers. Doris was involved with the Jocelyn Senior Center and served as a volunteer with the Elizabeth Hospice and Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of the Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Vista. Throughout her life, Doris enjoyed square dancing and gardening, and was well known for the delicious pies she baked. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Art Hulbert. She is survived by daughters, Mary Miller, Patricia Hulbert, and Barbara Roach; son, Daniel Hulbert; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 2, at the Palomar Unitarian Universalist Church, 1600 Buena Vista Dr., Vista. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com
