Teddi Fallico Obituary

Teddi Eloise Fallico ESCONDIDO -- Teddi Eloise Fallico lost her courageous battle to ovarian cancer on September 24, 2010. She was born on June 29, 1949 in Escondido, Calif., to Ted and Peggy James. She was named after her father who was born in The Whaley House in Old Town San Diego, and her grandmother, Mable Eloise Whaley James. She grew up in the "old Escondido" on Glen Ridge Road, fondly referred to as "Gopher Flats." At the time, there were four families in the neighborhood, the Suggs, James, Berquists, and Williams, and across the street was a big red farm house and barn owned by the Hinrichs. Ironically enough, the farm became the site of Orange Glen High School where Teddi was a cheerleader and graduated from in 1967. Teddi had a love of life and lived it to the fullest. Her travels included Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean, and the United States. She had a great sense of humor, a sharp wit, and loved doing her crossword puzzles, often times, with her mom and brother-in-law. She married Ken in 1983 and together they raised his son, Kevin. With a teen-age-son, their activities and travels continued with camping, cruises, and trips to their vacation home on the river. Later they bought a sail boat, the Bella Dee, at Oceanside Harbor where they are members of the San Marcos Yacht Club. Their sails included Dana Point and Catalina, not to mention the many river trips and lasting friendships made along the way. The most important thing in Teddi's life was her family. Her grandchildren, Delaney and Trevor, were the light of her life as were her son and daughter-in- law, Kevin and Becky. One of their favorite family activities was the Fourth of July at Oceanside Harbor; they always came home with an OYC plaque, mostly "first." E Dock Rocks!!! Teddi is survived by her loving husband, Ken; son, Lt. Colonel USAF Kevin Fallico (Becky); grandchildren, Delaney and Trevor; her mother, Peggy James, father-in- law, George Fallico; sister-in-law, Karen Sugg (Tom); brother-in- law, Ronnie Fallico (Debbie); sister, Suzanne Lombard (Jim); her niece, Esme; and nephews, Jason and Hayden; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Anita Fallico, and her father, Ted James. Our family would like to thank our relatives and friends who gave their time and support to us during this past year and a half. We also want to thank the Elizabeth Hospice Team for allowing Teddi to pass graciously at home. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Elizabeth Hospice of Escondido,150 W. Crest Street, Escondido, Calif. 92025. A celebration of Teddi's life will take place at a later date. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com

To my cousin Ken,
We will miss Teddi, she was always so much fun and full of life. She lived it fully. I will remember the last time we saw her at my house a little over a year ago at the family picnic...she was especially kind to my daughter, giving her special attention, and even taking the time to send a card addressed to her afterwards. We had such a nice day. Even though weve had many good times throughout the years...at the lake, and other family celebrations, I will remember that last day we spent together, laughing and enjoying lots of good food and fun...until the resurrection, when we can laugh with each other once again

Sincerely,with love,
Terry Block and family

Dearest Ken & family,
We just heard the news from Ellen our next door neighbor on Amie Ct. We surely missed Teddi & you during halloween this year. She was so kind to our children when they went to the door treat or tricking every year. Now, driving up the street seeing the Christmas lights you left the new owners on the fence lining the park ....I think of the "Fallico's". We had no idea Teddi became ill. We are so saddened by your loss Ken. Our condolences to you & the family that loved her so.....

I met Teddi in 1984 my youngest son was 9 months. He is now 27 years old. She was quickly my best friend and her values and superb taste helped me to raise my two boys and grow myself. I was so fortunate to have had her wit and fun loving attitude in my life. I will forever remember all the fun at the river and at home. I miss you Ted and I know we are not over. Love you Dianne Foland

I moved to California in 1984. Teddi was my first friend.. We did everything together. We went to the beach. We soaked up the sun by the pool. We bought flowers and plants to fix up our yards. We went shopping and had lunches. We planned parties. We had our dogs play together in the yard. We went to craft shows. We even went grocery shopping together. We shared heartache and secrets, but mostly we laughed. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and truly a beautiful heart. I will always be grateful that she was in my life. My prayers go out to Kenny and the family. RIP sweet girl. You use to say " Something was a little slice of heaven" and I know for sure that heaven is where you are. Sending you a hug from afar .
