Angelica Guzman Obituary

Angelica Guzman, 16 PALA -- Announcing the Passing of Angelica, born and raised in Pala. Angelica Guzman went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, after a brief and sudden illness. She fought the illness bravely, but in just five months, her strong body could not survive complications from aplastic anemia and a subsequent liver transplant. The Guzman family is thankful to all of Rady's Children's Critical Care Unit, followed by all of Los Angeles' UCLA Liver Transplant Center. The doctors and nurses provided exceptional care for which the family will always be grateful. She leaves behind in a state of mourning and loss, her parents, her sisters, her grandparents on both sides, her aunts and uncles, and a large extended family that will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held between 4 and 8 p.m., on Thursday, December 30, at Alhiser- Comer Mortuary, 225 So. Broadway, Escondido. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, December 31, at the Church of the Resurrection, 1445 Conway Dr., Escondido. Everyone is welcome. The family will always remember Angelica as a selfless, loving, sharing, and giving girl. Her childhood nickname was "Chickle" because she stayed so close to her parents. As she grew, she never minded working and when she took a job, she worked hard until it was done. Her teachers in Pala and Bonsall remember her as kind and helpful as well. She was helpful in all ways to everyone and became responsible and helpful to the whole family and her community. Her friends remember her as a loving and loyal friend. Her parents depended on her for everything. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her. The angels in heaven are fortunate to welcome such a one as she! For anyone caring to do so, donations to help with funeral expenses may be sent to: Angel Guzman, father of Angelica Guzman, P.O. Box 121, Pauma Valley, Calif. 92061.
