Sharon Hanley-Collins Obituary

HANLEY-COLLINS--Sharon Marie. The family and friends of Sharon Hanley Collins mourn her September 15 passing in East Northport, NY. As a daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend, Sharon brought a light and love to each life she touched. As one of the seven children of Jane and Charles Hanley, nurturing came naturally to Sharon. Her schooling at the School of the Holy Child (Holy Child Academy), set the stage for her life. There she met some of her closest friends, with whom she would travel the world as an adult. Before life took her to California, Sharon worked at Town & Country magazine. And upon her return to New York, she joined the family business, Thomas C. Wilson, Inc. as Secretary of the Board. Sharon's dedication her alma mater brought her back to the School of the Holy Child, where she earned the friendship and respect of her fellow board members. On November 21, 1998, Sharon wed Paul Gerard Collins, her supportive and loving husband, at Nassau Country Club. And on July 12, 2003, Sharon realized a lifelong dream of becoming a mother to Grace Marie Collins. It is with a heavy heart that her family and friends say goodbye. Her passing leaves a great void in the lives of all those she touched. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Sharon Hanley Collins Scholarship Fund at the Holy Child Academy, Old Westbury, NY, 516-626-9300.
