Davis Given Obituary

GIVEN--The Reverend Davis. On October 10, 2007, The Reverend Davis Given died peacefully at the age of 87 with his family at his side. The son of the late Dorothy and William Barns Given, Jr., he is survived by his sister Dorothy Given Kee of Dallas, Texas, his niece Dorothy Davis Kee of Herndon, Virginia, nephew William Given Kee of Charleston, South Carolina, and nephew John and his wife Louise Kee of Dallas, Texas, great-nieces Hilary Davis Kee, Elizabeth Given Kee, Sarah Wright Kee, and great-nephew John Rutherford Kee. A graduate of St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire and Yale University 1942. He served in WWII with the Eighth Air Force in England. He graduated from General Theological Seminary in New York City. Father Given was head of the Navajo Good Shepherd Mission at Fort Defiance, Arizona, assistant priest at Trinity Church in New York City and Chaplian at Morningside House and Amsterdam House. In retirement, he was a priest at St. Luke in the Fields. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 4pm at St. Luke in the Fields Episcopal Church, 487 Hudson St., New York, NY 10014. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Music or Outreach Programs at St. Luke's.
