Paul Kramer

KRAMER--Paul. Beloved husband of Helen, father of David and Nina, brother of Bren and Mark, uncle to four nieces and three nephews, died October 13, 2007 after a long illness. A producer and filmmaker, he started at the D'Arcy Advertising Agency in 1961 and then moved into the filmmaking business, crafting commercials, industrials, and educational films. He owned and partnered in a succession of filmmaking enterprises, the most recent being First Light Pictures. He had a lifelong affection for cars and boats, but nothing exceeded his love for family and friends, of which he had a prodigious number. Paul was just a classy guy, extraordinarily and genuinely interested in the lives of all those he encountered. He had a sweetness that pervaded every relationship he had, and a delight in life that made his blue eyes twinkle. When he walked into a room, it would light up with his energy. He was five-foot-six, and people a foot taller looked up to h im. He will be missed terribly, but he leaves this world with the love and good wishes of so many. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 17, 2007 at 1pm at The Gutterman Funeral Home, 8000 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury, NY 11797. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center-Research.
