Joan Calderon Obituary

CALDERON--Joan, 64, of New York City, NY died peacefully on October 22, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. The employees of Lehman Brothers deeply mourn the loss of our beloved friend and colleague of 19 years. Joan's extended family shared her many interests, including a deep love and compassion for animals and film. Throughout her life, Joan was an active and passionate volunteer on behalf of animal rescue and adoption, particularly with the Pet-I-Care and Brooklyn Animal Rescue Coalition (BARC) organizations; she was also an avid fundraiser for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the March of Dimes. Joan will be remembered for her boundless energy and enthusiasm for life. She will be truly missed by all those who were privileged to have known her, including those families whose lives have been enriched by her pet adoption efforts. A memorial service will be held in New York City on Tuesday, October 30th at 4:00pm at Riverside Memorial Chapel located at 180 West 76th Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New York Pet-I-Care c/o Marilyn Teres, 301 East 22nd St., New York, NY 10010 or the Weill Cornell Medical College, Cancer Research, Development Office, 1300 York Ave., Box 123, New York, NY 10065.
