Jerome Fuchs Obituary

FUCHS--Jerome H., on October 28, 2007 of East Meadow (formerly of Massapequa). WWII 2nd Lt. Army Air Corps 1943-1946, graduated Syracuse University cum laude 1950, MBA 1951 sigma Iota epsilon honorary. Retired professor at Hofstra University 1987-2000, President of Fuchs Associates 1960-2000, clients included several fortune 500 companies and The Federal Small Business Administration. He was listed in Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Finance and Industry and Contemporary Authors. Charter member of The Society of Professional Management Consultants, founding member of The Institute of Management Consultants. Adjunct Professor: Syracuse University 1950-1952, Johns Hopkins University 1953-1957, Drexel University 1955-1957, Queens College 1963-1965, SUNY Stony Brook 1987-1991. Author of: "Making the Most of Management Consulting Services" (1975), "Management Consultants in Action" (1975), "Computerized Cost Control Systems" (1976), "Computerized Inventory Control Systems" (1977), "Administering the Quality Control Function" (1979), "The Prentice Hall Illustrated Handbook of Advanced Manufacturing Methods" (1988). Beloved husband of Eleanor (nee DeRoo), devoted father of Jerome S. Taylor (Chris), Susan Decker (John) and Sandy Lombino (the late Thomas). Loving brother of Gloria Stern and Shirley Toorans, also survived by his cherished grandchildren Jason Taylor (Kate Finnefrock), Kristy Kowalsky (Martin), Ashley Taylor, Nicole Lombino, Joe Lombino, Steven Decker (Melissa) and Jennifer Lumbra (Casey). Reposing at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home Inc., 3863 Merrick Road, Seaford (2 traffic lights East of Rt. 135). Graveside service Wednesday 11am at Grace Church Cemetery (Massapequa) hours today 2-4 and 7-9pm.
