Rosalie G. Cole

COLE--Rosalie G., died peacefully at her caregiver's home on November 11th, 2007. Born Rosalie Grubb Haynes in Cape May, NJ in 1915, she graduated from Agnes Irwin School in Philadelphia, studied at La Sorbonne in Paris, France and at the French Fashion School of Design in New York City. She spent a great deal of her youth in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where her ancestors had developed the Cornwall Ore Mines, one of the largest deposits of iron in the eastern United States. As an adult, she served as a docent at many museums, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York City, The Denver Art Museum and The Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, CT. She was married to Harrison Wells Cole, in 1953 and is survived by her daughter, Beverly Cole Costello, son-in law, Ned Bolton Costello and her grandchildren Blair Bolton Costello and Owen Cole Costello. A memorial service will be held at St. Ann's Church in Old Lyme, CT on November 29, 2007 at 11:00am.
