Alexander Cameron Obituary

CAMERON--Alexander Abbott, Jr., "Sandy", of Southampton, NY, on November 18, 2007 at age 87. He was the son of Joanna and Alexander Cameron of Concord, MA. He was predeceased by two brothers, Braley of Barrington, RI, and Frederick of Bath, ME. He graduated from the Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs, the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and attended Harvard Business School. He was a member of the Zeta Psi fraternity. He served as a Lieutenant in the Army during WWII in the European Theater. Sandy had a long career in advertising in New York. When he retired to Southampton he was associated with Electric Fence for some time. He was a former member of the River Club in New York, Bathing Corporation and the Meadow Club in Southampton. He served for many years as a director of the Dewey Corporation. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Deborah of Barrington, RI, several nieces and nephews, and his longtime companion, Julie Kammerer of Southampton. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 24th, at 11am, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Southampton. Memorial Donations to ARF, P.O. Box 901, Wainscott, NY 11975 would be appreciated.
