Edward Kalletta Obituary

KALLETTA--Edward Sr., 89, passed away on November 22, 2007 in New Jersey. He was FDNY Assistant Chief Brooklyn Borough Commander and retired in 1977. WWII Veteran served as Lt. Army Air Corp Navigator on B29 Bombers in the Pacific. Born in the Adirondacks, NY, he raised his family in Brooklyn, NY. He retired with his wife, Claire to Ormond Beach, Florida in 1980. Beloved husband of the late Claire (nee Anderson). Loving father of Richard and Sheridan, Daniel and Anne, Marie and Dr. Philip Friscia, Edward Jr. and Joyce, William and Rita and Nancy and Jean. Adored grandfather of Alexis, Nicole, Danielle, Jennifer, Stephen, Juliette, Arielle, Edward III, Christina, Sean, Claire, and George. Great-grandfather of Emily. Also survived by his brother William and Marion of Ormond Beach, Florida. He was a member of Oceanside Country Club, Halifax River Yacht Club and the Moose Lodge in Ormond Beach, Florida. He was a member of St. Brendan's R.C. Church in Ormond Beach, Florida where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Friend are invited to visit Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 Highway 35, Hazlet, NJ. Mass of Christian burial St. Catharine's R.C. Church Holmdel, NJ, Tuesday 9am, 732842-3963. He will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to New York FireFighters Burn Center Foundation, 21 Asch Loop, Bronx, NY 10475.
