Thurman ARRINGTON Obituary
Thurman Roosevelt Arrington, 75, of 55 Glade Court, Altavista, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Smith Arrington for 48 years.
He was born June 30, 1933, in Charlotte County, the son of the late Samuel Cole Arrington and the late Addie Clifton Arrington. He was a retired agent with State Farm Insurance Company and proudly served his country as a veteran in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, James Arrington and his wife, Charlotte, of Richmond; two sisters, Ruby A. Dickerson and her husband, Robert, of Richmond and Jean A. Paulette and her husband, Millard, of Lynchburg; and a sister-in-law, Christine Arrington of Farmville. Also surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, close friends and his special care givers.
A brother, Murray Arrington preceded him in death.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg, with the Rev. Jim Critchley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Aug. 31, 2008, at Finch and Finch Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista, and other times at the residence.

Remembering the 4th of July holidays, all the boats, the fireworks, the cookouts, the family holiday get togethers and the vacations in FL are all bittersweet memories that last a lifetime. WE share in your loss.

Dear Barbara,
I'm so glad I got to see TR before he passed. Had I known he would have only survived another day I would have stayed for the Funeral to be with you, but we never know..Family is important, keep in touch...Love, Holly
