Kelly WILLIAMS Obituary
Kelly Michelle Williams, 49, of Lynchburg passed on to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Lynchburg General Hospital after an 18-year long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Ross Thompson Williams, and daughter, Kayla Amanda Williams, of Lynchburg; mother and stepfather, Joyce and Jack Carter of Salem; sister, Tammy and husband, Stan "Bo" Malek Jr., of Salem; brother, Edward Locke Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; three nephews, James Malek, of Salem, Joshua Malek, USAF, of Oklahoma and Stan "Lil Bo" Malek III of Roanoke; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Marge Williams of Clearwater, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Marge Doty of Clearwater, Fla.
Kelly was born in Painesville, Ohio, on July 22, 1959. She was a graduate of Northside High School in Eastlake, Ohio, and attended Kent State University of Ohio.
The family sends special thanks to neighbors Joyce and Dale Benfield, Uncle Lowell and Aunt Brenda Terry, of Lynchburg, and to a host of other relatives and friends. Our sincere thanks for the loving care to the complete staff on the second floor, MICU, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Tharp Funeral Home, with Pastor Roy Burket officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Interment to be at a later date at Miller's Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tharp Funeral Home, c/o the Kelly Williams Funeral Fund, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kelly's passing. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time. I know how much Kelly meant to all of of you and how much you dearly loved her. She was a beautiful person inside and out. God gained an angel in heaven.

I was very saddened to hear of Kelly's passing. For many years she fought a valiant battle. Knowing now that she is no longer suffering will bring you some comfort. Keep her memory alive always in your hearts. Kelly worked for me at VBH O/P Registration and she always had the same sweet smile to greet everyone.
