Phillip 'Ace' John Kalin Jr.

Phillip "Ace" John Kalin Jr., 79, of Madison Heights, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at his residence. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pauline Ashe Kalin.

Born Aug. 23, 1929, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Phillip John Kalin Sr. and the late Ruby Morton Kalin. Mr. Kalin was a Korean Navy veteran and attended Northminister Presbyterian Church. He was a retired welder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis John Kalin.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Debbie Adkins and husband, Bob, of Concord; one granddaughter, Shelly Ragland and husband, Robert, of Shipman; one great-grandson, Larrs Ragland; and one god granddaughter, Raven Sullivan of Lynchburg.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Briarwood Memorial Gardens by Dr. Wayne Meredith.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Hills or Northminister Presbyterian Church.
