Dorothy MOSS Obituary
Dorothy France Moss, 92, of Madison Heights, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thornton Moss.
Born July 14, 1916, in Columbus, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James and Eleanor Horch France. A sister, Luella Montgomery, also preceded her in death. She was a member of Elon Baptist Church, and was a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Mayberry and wife, Gail, of Lynchburg; two daughters, Brenda M. Campbell, and Sue M. Vest and her husband, Ted; five grandchildren, Sandy Whitt, Toni Wright and husband, Jimmy, J.T. Vest, Kelly Metz and husband, Dustin, all of Madison Heights, and a grandson in Florida; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Tammy Johnson for the love and care given to Mrs. Moss.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Interment will take place in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, Sept. 30, 2008, at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Mrs. Moss.

For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord for ever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
