Louis Palumbo Obituary

PALUMBO - Louis passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on June 6, 2008 at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, North Carolina. Mr. Palumbo was 95 yrs old and will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Louis Palumbo was born on December 24, 1912 in Worchester, MA to Josephine Perfetti and Vito Palumbo. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jean, and his parents. Louis is survived by his daughter Roberta Palumbo-Smith of Charlotte, NC, son Louis Palumbo and his wife Julie of N.Y., daughter Wende Gennardo and her husband Patrick of N.Y., son Gregory Hammer of Georgia, twelve grandchildren, James, Michael, Dillon, Mackensie, Patrick, Douglas, Chris, Danielle, Eric, Josh, Jessica, and Meredith, and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Frances, Rose, Joy, Gloria and Joan, and brothers Frank and Vito. The family will receive friends Monday 7-9:30pm at The McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home Inc., 385 Main Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:45am at St. Kilian R.C. Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.
