George Dies

I have many, many memories of Mrs. Kelly from growing up on Fourth Street, and I think she is smiling in all of them. She never minded a few extra kids around the house, and we all were grateful when she agreed to pave over half the backyard for a half-court basketball court. I also remember her determination that she was going to have a daughter someday -- and ended up with three lively ones. My thoughts and prayers are with all the Kellys. George

Mrs. Kelly was one of the warm and loving maternal presences who made Fourth Street such a special, safe and fun place to grow up. Always welcoming and never flustered by dirt, tears, or occasional blood (she always gave the impression that she'd seen it all before), she retained her essential sweetness and warm interest in other people throughout her life, and was loved far beyond her family circle. My mom was so pleased that they were able to visit during these last weeks. Charlie and Marge, my love to you and all the Kellys.

My fondest memories were of sitting in the Kelly Kitchen with warm chocolate-chip cookies right out of the oven and Mrs. Kelly overseeing the entirety of everyone. What a wonderful person, whom I will never forget. All our thoughts, hearts & prayers to all of the Kelly clan.
