SWEENEY - Edward J., of Bethpage, L.I. (Co. Clare, Ireland) on July 12, 2008. Beloved husband of Anne Harkins and the late Breda Sweeney. Devoted father of AnneMarie (Kevin) Lewis, Christine Sweeney, Margaret (Michael) D' Antuono and Michelle (Todd) Gardner. Dear brother of Kay Kiernan, Nora Broe, Rita Kaminski and Patrick Sweeney. Cherished grandfather to his many grandchildren. Proud uncle to many. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Bethpage Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road, Bethpage, NY 11714. Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial St. Ignatius R.C. Church, Hicksville, L.I. Thursday 9:45am. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, L.I. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Edward's memory to Families of S.M.A. 50 Homestead Road, Gilette, NJ 07933. Visiting Tuesday and Wednesday 2:004:30 and 7:00-9:30pm.
