Dear Leondis family:
I don't know if any you realize the effect that stacey had on everyone that worked at mskcc, helping her fight the evil that took her. everyday she came into clinic with a smile on her gorgeous face and beautiful words for everyone she spoke to. i was envious of her upbeat, loving and peaceful spirit that never faltered, even when life dealt her the most terrible cards. Please find comfort in the fact that one of the most beautiful, genuine, inspiring human beings i have ever come in contact with was your daughter, and we are blessed to have ever been in her presence. i pray for your peace of mind and please know your whole family are in the hearts of all of us.
very sincerely,

I knew Stacey at Yale, where I worked with her on Relay for Life. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, who I greatly admired. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from someone who lived life with such grace and spirit. My deepest condolences to your family.

Stacey,
I am so sad. You worked and fought and laughed and smiled and loved and lived so courageously. You were such a special person, loved by everyone who knew you. I am praying for your family.

Stace,
As I read all of these notes from friends and family, I want you to know how much of an impact you had on the lives of everyone who surrounded you. From when we were six years old, you and I had an unmatchable connection and deep love for each other that no one else could ever fathom. Years of distance never severed the bonds of our special friendship, and I can still hear our exchanged giggles, secrets, and memorable times we shared. We were inseparable, and I am so lucky to call you my best friend. I'm crying because you're gone, but laughing at the funny things that we used to do for entertainment. Remember when we were Wednesday and Mortisha for the talent show? Or when we pushed each other and Tony around in boxes (poor guy ended up needing stitches). We mastered all of the Geo Safari games, we watched Babysitter's Club/I Love Lucy/Mickey Mouse Club, and made enough nachos to feed an army. You and your allergies...(oats and msg). I still have all of the cards, gifts, pictures, and even my half of the "best friends" necklace you had given me. I've kept it all...
I am still going to talk to you because I know you hear me, and I will think of you everyday for the rest of my life, Stace.
You were my angel from the day I met you and you will always be.
I love you, my best friend.

Even though I did not have the privilege of knowing Stacey personally, I heard so much about her courageous spirit from her cousin Stephanie. Through the words that I heard of Stacey, I realized she was a beautiful person inside and out who gave hope to and touched the lives of so many people.
I would like to extend my sincere heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

Stacey and I attended grammar school together. Even then, she was so gracious and kind to everyone she encountered. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. God often times seems to take the best first... We can all be certain that for amazing people like her, there truly is a heaven waiting beyond this life. She touched everyone she knew. My deepest sympathies.

Dear Joey, Ellen, Tony and Diana,
Words cannot express how deeply saddened I am to hear about Stacey's passing. Please accept my most sincere condolences.
Stacey was such a beautiful person, inside and out, who provided inspiration and joy to anyone who knew her. I am blessed to have so many beautiful memories of our time together - reading books, making projects, singing songs, playing tickle monster, to name a few - and I often find myself thinking of Stacey as I raise my own children. She will forever hold a very special place in my heart.
I am sorry I couldn't be there to communicate my love and sympathy personally. We just moved to CA and I am expecting in a few weeks. With much love and deep sadness - Bernadette, Sylvain, and Alexi

Stacey was a brilliant young woman who exuded class and happiness. She was always smiling, even while she was fighting cancer. I grew up as a classmate of Stacey's, and the whole time I knew her, she was one of the most friendly people you could meet. Our whole graduating class was friends with Stacey, no matter who you were. I am so saddened to hear of her passing, and I wish I could have told her how inspirational she was. Her legacy will always live on.

Please accept my sincere condolences. Stacey was a wonderful young lady who fought such a courageous battle. She was an inspiration to all of us.
Both, my wife and I took such inspiration from her. I remember her from school and know that she conntinued to battle after graduation.
She will be remembered through the Foster Foundation and all the lives that she touched.
We moved to Colorado in August 2004. I can not be at her services but send my sincere sympathy.

We had no idea that Stacey was so ill for so long. Our hearts extend to you, Ellen, Joe, Tony, and Diana, at this devastating time for you and your entire family. Having lost Monte so suddenly on Christmas Eve, 2004, we know that words cannot suffice at this time to ease your pain. It just "is".
Please know that we will always remember the earliest years when Stacey lived in Rockville Centre, vividly recalling her "glow" whenever she chose to undertake anything, quickly mastering whatever she sought to achieve.

Dearest Leondis Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Stacey may be gone from this world, but her impact will be felt forever through the impact that she had on those around her. Stacey added so much joy to the world around her and to the lives of all those who knew her. She had infinite optimism, joy, and hope which she spread to everyone around her.
I feel blessed to have had Stacey in my life, even if far too briefly. She has transformed me and all of us who knew her.
I am sending you my sympathies during your heartbreaking loss. I hope that you know how much she did for those around her in such a short time and how much her presence in this world was a gift from God. May this knowledge of how very much she and her impact is still with us bring you some peace in this unbelievably difficult time. Stacey is an angel shared with this world, and I am so grateful for having had her in my life.
