McGOWAN - Francis "Pete", of Sea Cliff, NY on July 22, 2008. Former V.P. of McGowan & Sons, member of Local 138 and active member of the Ancient Order Of Hibernians Mike Moran Division. Loving brother of Peggy (Bill) Ahrens, Mary Reilly and the late John "Jack" (the late Pat) McGowan. Beloved Uncle Pete to James McGowan, John McGowan, Mary Jane Barth, Nancy Wild, Terri Castelli, Alanna Reilly, Kevin Reilly, Michael Reilly, Douglas Reilly, and the late Susan Cunningham. Great Uncle of Olivia, Gavin, John Andrew, Sara, Carley, Jessica, Jack, Jimmy, John, Jill, Matt, Jackie, Mike, Mackenzie, Tommy, Krissy, Breige, Kathleen, and the late Matt. Visiting Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm, Whitting Funeral Home, 300 Glen Cove Ave., Glen Head, NY. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10:30am, St. Boniface Church, Sea Cliff, NY. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY. Contributions may be made to The Sea Cliff Fire Department or to Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY.

Pete we will look forward to seeing you in heaven. We loved you since meeting you in 1952 in Aughnish Kinvara Co Galway. You have been special to the Glynn family and mention of your name brings a smile to our faces. I will treasure the memories of fond times together in Ireland, Long Island and Canada.
