Cherished grandfather of Yvonne Maria Holmes, Karl Anthony Holmes II, Kathleen Rose and Thomas J. Murphy. Dearest brother of James Murphy, Catherine Alberti, Virginia Smith the late George Murphy, Agnes Steiner, Elizabeth Sambataro and Helene Blumenthal. Member Pearl Harbor Survivors Assoc., Inc., Shrine of St. Anne K of C #4757, 4th Degree, Our Lady of Fatima Assembly, lifetime member Brentwood Legion Ambulance, founding parishioner of St. Lukes Church, past President Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Parish Council, founding member Brentwood St. Patrick's Parade Committee and St. Joseph Guild, retired employee of ITT World Communications. Reposing at the Michael J. Grant Funeral Homes 571 Suffolk Ave, Brentwood. Funeral Mass Monday 10am at St. Lukes R.C. Church. Interment with Full Military Honors at Long Island National Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9:30pm.
