Kathleen Dugan Obituary

DUGAN - Kathleen (nee McNamara), of Wantagh, born on Staten Island September 30, 1925; moved to Wantagh in 1964, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2008. Beloved and adored wife of Joseph F. Dugan. Devoted mother of Patricia Kearl (Kenneth), Kathryn Austin (James), Nancy, Joseph and Susan Leninger (Michael). Loving Nana of Christopher (Lesley), Brian (fiancee Virginia), Kathleen and Maureen. Dear sister of John McNamara and the late Margaret Sherwoon, Dennis McNamara and Nancy Cicero. Fond sister-in-law of Mary Dugan and Denis Dugan. Cherished "Aunt Kay" to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her favorite role as wife, mother, nana and homemaker, Kathleen worked as a legal secretary until her retirement in 1988. She was an amazing and compassionate woman who selflessly devoted her life to the care and nurturing of her family. She will remain in the hearts of the many lives she has touched. Visiting, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm, at C.S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 Bedford Ave., Bellmore. Funeral Mass, Wednesday 10:45am, at St. Barnabas R.C. Church. Cremation private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Good Shepherd Hospice would be appreciated.
