Helen Kublanow Moses

MOSES - Helen Kublanow, of West Hempstead, NY, aged 96, on August 23, 2008 . Born in Russia she came to the U.S. with her Mother and Sister during WWI. They crossed China, Japan, the Pacific Ocean, and Canada to enter Ellis Island. She studied Violin in the Heckshire Foundation Orchestra where she met her beloved husband John Moses. At Hunter college she became a conductor and led the concert before an important flight of Amelia Earhardt. During WW II she was a policewoman and then got a degree in education culminating in a Doctorate. She and her husband founded the West Hempstead Symphony Orchestra on Long Island. She was Principal of the Fairfield Elementary School in Massapequa for over 20 years and also taught at Hofstra University. Survivors include her daughter Susan Bloom (Myron) of Bloomington, IN; Son Richard Moses of Saugerties, NY and one grandson David Amoyal of Boston.
