I learned of "Big Ed's" passing in the news paper every year since he has been gone. I had the pleasure of working @ Seaman's Warehouse with him. He always had a kind word & would often tell me about the dog's you would take in in preporation to prepare them as service dog's. And when your dog passed how you had the option of keeping Dr. J.
May his soul be a peace & may he always watch over your family from heaven!

I was taken aback at the news of Ed's passing. I left Islip 6 months after high school so have not seen Ed but a few times in the last 28 years when I have gone back to visit family. I will always remember his ready smile (sometimes not SO smiley--haha) as he worked on his "Old cars" as I would stop to say hi on my walk up to Main St.
He was a good friend to many and was a trustworthy and admirable young man then and from what I have read from all, he never changed. May your family come to some sort of an understanding from all of this and have peace in knowing that he is now watching over you all w/that same silly smile! It is always good to have friends "up there"...
My regrets and sincerity,
Barbara Smith Edwards

Our hearts are breaking for you Ellie and Eddie as parents to lose a son who was so wonderful and such a huge part of your lives. But know how much love and joy you filled his life with and how much he gave back to you both. Eddie will be so sorely missed. His warmth and beautiful smile and laugh his gentle caring nature. We are so proud and happy he was part of our lives. We were awed by the amount of people who came to pay their respects and show their love. What a legacy to be so loved. We are sure he is with his loved ones now and sharing his wonderful laugh with them. God Bless and much love.

I will always remember the good times when I worked at the mall and you would stop in with the boys for a quick visit. As always I enjoyed those visits as brief as they were. Good conversation great laughs and wonderful memories. I only wish that so many years hadn't passed since the last time I saw you. You will be missed dearly.

Words cannot describe the joy that you brought to so many. The rare person who would lend a hand to anyone and always offer to help without being asked. You loved life and lived it to its fullest. You cared for your family and friends like few others. Your actions were even stronger than your words. You never complained about working too hard. You never had a bad word for anyone. You will be remembered for all this and much more. We will miss you at the breakfast club on the weekends. You understood and appreciated the simple and small things in life. That is what made you different. You knew how to make us laugh and now we shed a tear for you. Those tears will soon again turn to laughs as we will always remember the wonderful person you were. Your honesty, compassion, and love for your family and friends are a model to live life by.
Eddie Jr. You were one of a kind.
