Sophie Cavallaro

CAVALLARO - Sophie, until recently a long term resident of Hauppauge, passed away on September 3, 2008, in her 83rd year. She was united in marriage to Salvatore Cavallaro on August 26, 1944. She is survived by her daughter Diane Cavallaro MD, and her son-in-law David Castellano of the Utica, NY, area. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael and Thomas Miglietta. She was predeceased by husband Salvatore, brother William Woychuk and sister Mary Cocchiarella. Sophie was in excellent health until the last year of life. She and Salvatore were married for 57 years, took over 20 cruises together and toured Western and Eastern Europe. She was employed part-time for many years by Off-Track Betting. She was also active in the Democratic Party. Arrangements made by Moloney's Hauppauge Funeral Home, 840 Wheeler Rd. (Rte. 111) Hauppauge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 9:45am at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Hauppauge. Interment following at Queen of All Saints Cemetery, Central Islip, NY.
