PETRERA - Matteo V., age 73, of North Massapequa, L.I. on September 17, 2008. Beloved husband of Jocelyn Petrera. Devoted father of Pasquale Petrera, Anthony Petrera and Theresa Fullan. Fond father-in-law of Kathleen, Jacqueline and Peter. Cherished grandfather of nine. Proud Deputy Grand Knight, K of C, Delaney Council. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Bethpage Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road (1 Mile North of Southern State Parkway, Exit 29). Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial, St. James R.C. Church, Seaford, Monday 9:15am.Interment St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I. Visiting Saturday and Sunday 2-4:30 and 7-9:30pm.

To the Petrera Family,
My deepest condolences to the family. Mr Petrera was my guidence conselor for 4 years (West Babylon class of 86). He was a wonderful man. Always made the time to sit and talk to you ,never rushed you out of his office and would not let you leave until the issue was resolved and everyone was happy again .
We shared a few things in common and he enjoyed the fact he could speak Italian with me and we would have all our conversations in Italian.
I wish My daughters ,who attend WB would have gotten the honor to know Mr Petrera and what a wonderful man he was.

Dear Petrera family,
I'm very sorry for your loss!! Mr. Patrera was my guidance counselor back in 1993. He was a great man and a true friend! I use to go see him just to chat because we shared the same interest " Hunting". We use to exchange pictures of our years harvest!! I remember he had a hunting picture of him and his Son, hanging in his office which he so proudly displayed. My deepest sympathy to you and may god bless you all!!!

Dear Petrera Family, I don't know where to begin. Your father was the best man ever, He was my Guidance Counselor back in 1977 and 1978. He would always have the time to sit and chat with us. Many years later I met up with him at the bank in massapequa where I was working, and it was like we were back in West Babylon High all over again. He will truly be missed. My prayers are with all of you.

Dear Petrera Family,
Matteo was a wonderful friend and mentor to me. Even though I was just a student, he always had time to sit and talk to me. Years after I graduated WB, I would stop by to say Hi and he always took time to talk to me in between helping his students. He spoke of his children proudly and with Love. He will be missed greatly. You are all in our prayers.
