Sally Meyers Obituary

MEYERS - Sally G., 100, a 53rd year resident of Franklin Square, NY, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in Newburgh, NY where she shared a home with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born in Ontario, Canada on June 5, 1908, and lived in NY from childhood on. She was the widow of Martin Meyers and the mother of Abby Meyers, deceased. During her many years of activity, she was an active supporter of the rights of the mentally disabled, a devoted advocate for health and fitness, a successful business owner, an administration assistant at Franklin Park Nursing Home, and an active member of the Echo Park water aerobics program until 1995. She was a strong and independent woman who lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many loving and enduring friendships. She is survived with great love by her daughter, Jessica M. Thorner, her son-in-law Jeff Cox, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in her home in Newburgh, NY on Saturday, September 27, 2008. If you wish, you may call 914-805-7636.
