William McElhenny Obituary

McELHENNY - William J., died in Albany, New York on October 13. He was 80 years of age. Bill was born in New York City on September 18, 1928. He grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Fordham University in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1953 he married Marita Bowers and they had five sons Kevin, Brian, William, John and Thomas. The family lived in Douglaston, Queens for 32 years. Bill was a former president of the Douglaston Club. He was president of MGS Services, a subsidiary of Viacom until he retired in 1990. Bill and Marita relocated to Huletts Landing on Lake George where they lived until Marita passed away in 1998 after 45 years of marriage. Bill married Bernadette Davidow in 2000 and they lived at Huletts Landing and in Saratoga, New York. He was elected to the Dresden Town Board in recent years and was an active member of the Huletts Landing Property Owners Association. He is survived by his wife Bernadette, his sons Brian of Huntington, William of New York City, John of Medfield Massachusetts, Thomas of Mason Ohio and eight grandchildren. A wake will be held Friday October 17th at Burke Funeral Home, Saratoga, NY. Funeral Mass in Whitehall, NY October 18th.
