Jane Ekkers Obituary

EKKERS - Jane McClelland, died in Lloyd Harbor, NY surrounded by her family, on October 13, 2008. Beautiful wife of Dr. Thomas Ekkers. Loving mother of Katharine Bishopp (Scott) and Edward Ekkers (Julie). Proud grandmother of Nicholas McClelland Bishopp and Joseph Trump Ekkers. Also survived by a loving and admiring extended family and friends. Graduate of The College of New Rochelle and Hunter College, Special Ed teacher in NYC schools. She was a life long learner, member of the board at Hutton House lectures. Also served on numerous other boards, including the Society of St. Johnland. In repose at M.A. Connell Funeral Home 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station, Thursday 7-9pm and Friday 2-5 and 7-9pm. Mass Saturday, October 18 at 10:00am, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs R.C. Church, Centerport. Burial St. Patrick's Cemetery, Huntington, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Society of St. Johnland, 395 Sunken Meadow Rd., Kings Park, NY 11754.
