Donna, I'm so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. The story of your wedding day is something I still enjoy retelling--Paul walking down the side of the hill, the goblets, the sudden downpour, all of it. You are in my thoughts.

Dear Donna,
We were so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. We were so glad to see him at Roger's birthday party - he looked so upbeat that no one could really see the pain he was in. He shared his joy of life with everyone he came in contact with. It was a privledge to know him. We hope that you are getting through this difficult time OK....There's always K1 P2. Our best wishes and love, Bob and Bonnie

Dear Donna,
I am so sorry for your loss. I could not imagine college without Paul. His friendship shaped my life in many ways, he challenged our thoughts, taught us to be true students of life. He introduced us to ideas and foods and the Macintosh, that would now seem everyday. Paul lived what he taught, and that was what made him a great teacher, and even better friend.
My only regret is not keeping in better touch. I am very happy that he found his true love and soul mate. My heart goes out to you. I know that Paul is somewhere in the boughs of a great oak tree watching over you.

I met Paul when I started MSU in 1982. I was just 22, and Paul recognized my unformed and struggling soul. He introduced me to Ayn Rand and carbonara sauce and challenged me endlessly on how to live an ethical life. Like all of us who are writing here, I cannot imagine my life without Paul's place in it. He also spoke so passionately and lovingly about Donna, and I am thankful that they found one another. I am equally sorry, though, that the time was so short.

Donna,
Our deepest sympathies to you and your families on the passing of Paul. We will keep you and Paul and your love for one another in our hearts always. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of such a wonderful man and the awesome couple that you became. We always knew that you were where you were meant to be; from the heading to Hartford party, to our night out in Chicago and then being witness to one of the most beautiful wedding ceremonies. We will cherish the memories always. Be strong, be brave, be patient with yourself and most of all focus on the happiness in all the wonderful years that you two shared. May Paul’s love and light live on through you and may you have strength in knowing that soul mates will meet once again. May peace and healing be with you after this long journey by his side. We miss you very much and think of you often.

Donna,
Although we only had a brief evening together in January, it will stay forever in my memory and that of my daughter Riley. She was so moved by Paul that she came back to the hotel room and wept. She was touched by Paul. She saw him as a quality person and wanted to be like him; taking a positive perspective, embracing life and being brave enough to face her own challenges. She saw that in you too. Riley has been successful with all that. It's amazing that Paul came into our lives at such a crossroads and inspired Riley in such a way.
The deep love you displayed for each other could be felt by others. You are fortunate to have shared that. Keep all that moving forward. With all our love, Jeri and Riley.

My deepest sympathies to you Donna and family - Paul was my Professor at University of Hartford and then UConn for my communication classes. He was a wonderful and dedicated professor who I will not forget. I will always remember him with his large coffee mug that he always brought to class to have his expresso.

Donna - Our hearts are with you. This is based on a Native American verse -
Paul did not die...
He lives in the beautiful wind that blows
Lives in the sound of the birds that crow
Lives in the sun that shines so bright
Lives in the peaceful dark at night
Lives in a star you see in the sky
Lives in the ocean waves that come in with the tide
Lives in the smell of flowers and grass
Lives in the summer that goes so fast
Lives in your heart that hurts so much
Paul did not die, you only lost touch.
Love, Anita and Dave

I was shocked to hear of Paul's untimely passing. As a boyhood friend of Paul (we lived in San Remo together and attended St. Joseph's through 8th grade) I have only the best memories of our youth and his wonderful family.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you, Paul and your family.

The greatest gift any teacher can receive is the knowledge that they changed the lives of students who sat before them. Paul Mineo was not only my favorite teacher, but the most challenging. He once told me, "Don't let classes get in the way of your education." I'm sure that conversation took place late at night, in his apartment, while my friends and I we were using his MAC to establish an alternative newspaper on campus. It was fantastic advice, and I often shared it with my own students.
We maintained our friendship long after I graduated. He called one day, saying he was coming to Minneapolis for a Rolling Stones concert and asking if he could crash on my couch. We met for a drink before the concert. I brought along my friend Donna. She was the coolest person I had met in the cities and I wanted Paul to think I was hip and cool, and living it up in the big city. Paul later told me, "When I saw her I thought, well thank you very much, Rita." That was the beginning of one of the greatest love stories of all time.
I will miss Paul always. He had such an impact on my life. He was a true friend, and a truly amazing person.
Donna, I'm thinking of you every minute. I love you.

I loved Paul and wanted so much to see him one more time. Our time together at Michigan State is among the best of my memories. Anchovies! Paul would understand that as an expression of praise for him and his life.

Donna - My tears are falling.
I remember your wedding day very clearly and as the years passed, I realized that I have never met two people who were so meant for each other. I understand the true meaning of soul mates because of you and Paul.
As you know, Paul was my professor in my Communications class at UConn. He asked the class if anyone could take care of his cats while he was away (in LI), but the student had to live close to him and have an A! That was the beginning of our friendship!
I loved him as my professor and my friend. And, in turn, I love you.
The world has lost an amazing person. I am so deeply sorry.
