Dear Family of John Cutty,
I was very sad to learn the news that my 12th grade English teacher, Mr. Cutty, had passed away. I still remember the wonderful classes he taught at Oyster Bay High School where he really made us, his students, love literature. I still have my 1964 Oysterette Yearbook with his photograph bearing his signature smile. He was truly a very special teacher who inspired you to want to read and learn (a tough sell at 17-18 years of age). I'm sure you all will miss him. I hope his days in retirement were enjoyable.
My condolences to you all,
Eric Davis OBHS '64

Mr. Cutty was my English teacher and mentor at Oyster Bay High School in 1963-64, and advisor to the Harbour Voice school newspaper. He taught me different ways to think, new approaches to tolerance and greatly influenced my career and life
