I never met Dawn, but read many of her books and they're on my "keeper" shelf. I am reminded of Dawn every time I see a post from her dear sister, Candy, who lives up to her perfect name. Two beautiful sisters. Thank you, Deborah Macgillivray, for keeping Dawn's memory alive for us.

I just recently flipped thru Lord of the Deep, and thoroughly enjoyed what little I did read. I am an Amazon seller, and I did sell it. Now, I'm so mystically pulled by that book, that I now must buy another copy to read! Rest in peace, dear Dawn. You were truly gifted...

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7
Dawn was truly a treasure in an earthen vessel. I took a query letter class of hers and am so grateful to have experienced not only the wonderful talents of her writing, but the encouraging and generous spirit of her teaching. My prayers are with all of us who mourn her loss, but especially with her family at this time. I hope they can one day take comfort in the thought that she lives on in the lives of those she touched. I met Dawn through the Gothic Romance Writers. She was a big supporter of the genre and our group. Pitching in to judge and help out where she could, despite her full writing plate and her physical challenges.
I loved her sense of humor and her kindness. It was a pleasure to get to know her here in our cyber world. It was wonderful to watch her blossom and unfold as writer.
I am glad she is free from suffering. But saddened that I won't get to read many more of her books or see her emails.
