What can I say about my Uncle Dave? I really admire everything about him. Throughout my life he has always been there for me & after my Dad (Darwin) passed he took up the role as "father figure". I never got the chance to thank him for that. He was always there when I needed him, and I appreciate that stabiltiy in my life. He meant the world to my daughter Kaylia. She still remembers Uncle Dave & Aunt Janet and our trip out to Utah summer 2007. And I always will apreciate the "Grandparent" role they have played in her life cause she don't have my parents around for that. And I am so greatful for the time we spent together. He will be missed by us greatly.
I love my family and want to thank them all for being in my life because you never know how long you will have with with the ones you love.

My family and I will miss Dave at the Salt Lake Bees games this summer. There will be something missing at the stadium without Net Man!

My deepest sympathy to all of you in the passing of David. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a friend of his brother Daniel - who was loved and blessed to have a big brother like David. I appreciate so much David's love for the Lord, and for his service to our country. May the memories of his life, and the confident assurance that he is now in Christ's presence, bring you both joy and peace.

I am left without words to describe the depth of sadness that I have felt this week. It is as if I have had a part of me ripped away.
I was blessed to have been a member of the Pratt family, some 50+ years ago as a foster child. How unflinching the sands of time flow through the hourglass of our life. Throughout mine, David remained a part of me and we shared our observations on life and faith over the years. I could give him advice or recommendations on various issues that he was dealing with, but it was David that blessed me through his support, love, prayers and timely messages of goodness, and verse. When life took a turn, he was there in his quiet way to let me know he cared.
I will always treasure when he and Janet visited in Washington many years ago, how he showed me Hill AFB, lunch with he and Janet, the last time he and the boys had a dinner out when I was in town, and watching the NetMan work the first base line at a late season baseball game and all the children he touched.
Over the years, he always called me "Brother", "Big Brother', or "Bro" as the situation called for. I'll never forget that. Simply stated, David was the glue that held lives together or enriched lives through his vision of love, caring, commitment, and faith.
I am a beneficiary for being touched by his love. In many ways, he was a teacher. I shall listen more attentively to him, knowing he sees my flaws and still loves me and intercedes on my behalf.
And so he is now with Howard, Darwin, and James, looking down on Janet and family, his mother Venita and brothers Leonard and Daniel. And with his big heart, he still looks on to the very many others who he touched with his life and love

From my earliest memories David has always been a hero to me, he would quote scriptures He learned in catechism and Sunday school, He seemed to remember every thing he read easily, his vision was acute, it was his job to read the signs on long trips, he was practically a straight A student, he always stood up for me to older bullies and he could fight too, he always tried to encourage me and motivate me to do more. He joined the army and served his country with honors married a beautiful wife had two fine boys and had a successful career as a government accountant from which he retired early, due to a promise he made the Lord that if he could do that he would work for him full time which he did as a Stevens minister and assisting in weekend retreats for via de Christo and leading youth groups and teaching Sunday school. I could write more and I may yet but it would take a novel to do him justice. No he was not perfect but God holds nothing against him now and neither will I.
All of my accomplishments seemed small in comparison, yes I looked up to him that's what little brothers do, those of us who are lucky enough to have big brothers that show us what is possible can count our blessings, I am afraid to think of what my life would have been like without David.
David walked with the Lord while he was here, he walks with Him there now. He left many of us behind but he left some comforts for us, the snow, a peace that we know he rests from labor with others we love. Every time someone dear passes it gets less painful than the last not because we harden our hearts but because it teaches us to let go and trust God more, that's really what it's all about.
God made us for company but we aren't always good guests and he won't take that choice away. David went home early because he pleased our host so that God wanted him closer. God teaches us with life how we can gain the most joy, if we treat life as a lesson we can.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

I do not know where to begin. I have a lot of GREAT memories of David while I was growing up. Every year on Christmas night all of us going to Grandpa's - that was a tradition when all the family got together. I am fortunate to have been his cousin and to have shared the same birthday. He told me he would think about me on "our" birthday. A lot of great memories with David, Janet, many family members, and friends on 4th of July's at Judy and Roger's. What an AWESOME person David was. I have sadness that he is no longer here physically, but know that he will always be with us. I know that David would want all of us to CELEBRATE his life! Love, Marla

I was so sorry to hear about David, He was a sweetheart, and his uncle Harold loved him so much. I know they are up in heaven having a wonderful time together.
The whole family has my deep sympathy and sorry that I cannot be there tomorrow, but my heart will be.
