Judith Tobin Obituary

Judith D. Tobin 1941-2008 DES PLAINES, ILL. Judith D. Tobin died Monday Aug. 18. Born March 5, 1941, in Cottonwood. A mass for Judith D. "Judy" Jenny Tobin, 67, took place at St. Mary Catholic Church, Des Plaines, Ill. on Friday, August 22 at 11 a.m. Judy will lie in state Thursday, August 28 from 9:30 until time of mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Cottonwood, Idaho. Interment will take place at the Cottonwood Catholic Cemetery, Cottonwood, Idaho. Judy dedicated herself to raising her children and building a nurturing home. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Judy was an active communicant of St. Mary Parish. She belonged to the Legion of Mary and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer since its inception. She also volunteered with the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener Service. Judy loved gardening and became a master gardener. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower garden and caring for and planting trees in her yard. Most importantly, she relished the friendships and sharing of gardening information with friends and neighbors. She will be missed by family, friends and neighbors. Judy was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Tobin, formerly of Adams; mother of Frank Jacob Tobin of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Jenny Rose Tobin of Monterey, Calif.; sister of Mary Ann (Vern) Reiner of Ferdinand, Idaho, Karen (the late Kenneth) Gehring of Keuterville, Idaho; and niece of Sally (the late Herb) Thelen of Manitowoc, Wis., and Gilbert (Hazel) Theil of Winneconne, Wis.
