Kenneth Sprague Obituary

Kenneth W. Sprague 1939-2008 NORTH ADAMS Kenneth W. Sprague, Sr. 68, of 9 Secor Ave., North Adams, died Monday Aug. 25, at the North Adams Regional Hospital surrounded by his large loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in North Adams on Oct.3, 1939 son of the late Edwin Sprague and Burdine (Laribee) Sprague. He attended schools in Windsor and Dalton.. He was employed at the Arnold Print Works in Adams. He was employed at the General Electric Co. in the Naval Ordinance and Power Transformer Division for 20 years. He was the owner and operator of his own concrete and foundation company serving the cemeteries of Northern Berkshire. He last worked part-time assisting his nephews Frank and John Bird in the operations of North Adams and Williamstown Sudway. He was a member of the First Baptist Baptist Church of North Adams. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and Minnesota Vikings fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He leaves his loving wife of 46 years , Gloria (Moon) Sprague whom he married Sept. 29, 1962 in North Adams.Two Sons, Kenneth W. Sprague Jr. and his wife Darlene of Windham, N.H. and Steven A. Sprague of North Adams. Five Grandchildren, Lori, Steven Jr., Zachary, Matthew and Jacob Sprague. Two Greatgrandchildren, Hayden King and Alexa Sprague.. Two sisters, Nancy Bernier and Connie Lavigne of North Adams. Two Stepbrothers, Horace Greenlaw of North Adams and John Strack of Adams .Four Stepsisters, Vina Ferris, Jean Morgan and Donna Czarnecki of North Adams and Rose Molloy of Adams.Two Halfsisters, Judith Brazie and Sandra Nolan of Pittsfield. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one Brother,Edwin Sprague Jr, two Stepbrothers, Harry and Frederick Greenlaw. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral Services will take place Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Bible Church on Notch Rd. North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.Calling Hours are Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Ma. Memorial Donations are suggested for the Kenneth W. Sprague Sr. grandchildren and greatgrandchildren education fund through the funeral home.

GLoria and family I am so sorry for your loss. Ken was an amazing person he touched everyone he met. His smile lit up a room no matter what was going on .
