Dear Aunt Janet,

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear Uncle Fred. He shared himself so generously and personally. In his company we could not help but feel his sincere love of people and will forever remember him with love and affection. I'm sure my husband and children sensed his "GREATNESS" from the way you, Janet, honored him in both words and deeds. You have truly been a devoted, adoring and adored wife.
Uncle Fred will be remembered for his love of music, entertaining, and his use of humor to uplift others. My earliest memory of Uncle Fred is his blowing smoke rings from his pipe in Grandma Nassif's living room. One vivid memory I have is, while sitting in the quiet atmosphere of a Chinese restaurant in Maryland, his sober commandment: "Now everybody... pick your nose." Sophisticated. Childlike. Lovable! Perhaps I will most remember Uncle Fred for his unique gift of remembering people and intuitively understanding their minds and hearts.
Aunt Janet, you loved and honored Uncle Fred all of your days together. What an inspiration. John and the children send their love (hugs and kisses to "Auntie") and pray for the soul of their dear Uncle Fred nightly.

Love, Kirsten, John, John Francis, Annie, Sarah, George, Eddie & his little Irish girl, Katie

Dearest Janet(& Nassif Family),

After you called today and when I read the obit about Fred, I wish that we three could have spent time together. What a force he was from his early years and it is obvious that he left friends and family with many wonderful memories. Fred was my 1st Cousin; his mother & my mother were sisters. I wish too that I could have enjoyed some of his theatrical years. Theater seems to run in the family.
Janet, I cannot do much, but I am always here and I want you to feel free to call day or night if you should want to talk to someone. In the meantime, I will pray for you always to find some peace & joy in the coming years. Believe me, the Lord will hold your hand and guide you through this next phase of your life.
With love and caring, Cousin Aggie

To Janet and all of the Nassif family,
For over 20 years we enjoyed Fred's wit, smile and neighborly good humor as we met almost daily on our visits to Continental Towers during our vacations in Fl. He was a special friend to my Mom and Dad, especially during Dad's long illness. We will always greatly appreciate Fred's help and compassion for our parents. He will be greatly missed. Janet and all the Nassifs

I will always have the image of Fred, in total delight, acknowledgiing the he had all his worldly posessions within a arm's reach of his easy chair.

Also all the aunts loved him " He's is such a wonderful dancer!" either My mother Mary or pick any of the other sisters.

I also enjoyed his description of me as rather like Buck Shot. You send out energy and see what hits the target!

Love and Peace,

Bob McAndrew

Dear Janet,
My heart and prayers(along with my Mom and Brother) are with you at this most difficult time of your life, along with your family. Please know
that I feel so blessed to have had all those fun time in Nantucket way back in the early '70's when the Elverson family had the great fortune to meet you .....instantly you both became part of our family and have remained so all this time later.
The stories (TV ad with that St. Bernard story I will NEVER forget),"Uncle Jack", Fred and Daddy trying to "out do" each other with jokes....those special, special days....will always be a part of our heart and memories.....and the two of you coming to Swarthmore to surprise Daddy at his retirement dinner, meant so very much.....Fred will always be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers forever.
Remember I am always here...and you are always in my prayers too.
I can just picture Fred and Daddy back together with Uncle Jack telling jokes and laughing together....those we love so much are taken from us way too soon.....but I like to think that they are once again together and are now our "Guardian Angels" watching over us.
With all my love for/from the entire Elverson family,
Sara~Jo
