Cecilia T. Lecuyer

Cecilia T. Lecuyer 1918 - 2008 ADAMS Cecilia T. Lecuyer, 90, of 15 Highland Ave. died Monday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2008 at the North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Clarksburg on Aug. 5, 1918, daughter of Andrew P. And Anna Obara Pevoski, she moved to North Adams as an infant with her parents and attended and graduated from the former St. Joseph High School in 1937. Her first place of employment was for the former J.J. Newberry Co in North Adams as a sales clerk. She also worked for a short time for the former Signet Co. in Adams, and then for the former Waverly Fabrics Co., as a customer service representative for over 10 years, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Lecuyer was a communicant of the parish of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs and St. Thomas Aquinas, where she was very active in church activities and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne sense 1959. She enjoyed attending whist parties playing cards, and crocheting. She was a devoted mother who loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She leaves her husband, Leo Lecuyer, whom she married May 8, 1948. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Gary Lecuyer and his wife, Christine, of Adams; one daughter, Carol Betti and her husband, Jeffery, of Williamstown; one sister, Benedicta Ciskowski of Cheshire; two grandchildren, Catherine and David Lecuyer, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Frank, Joseph, Stanley, Leo, and Adam Pevoski, and by one sister, Victoria Pitroff. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Cecilia T. Lecuyer will take place Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at 9 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Notre Dame Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Community of Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations in her memory can be made to Berkshire County Elder Services for meals on wheels.
