James Gallagher Obituary

James Richard Gallagher 1943 - 2008 ADAMS James Richard Gallagher, 65, of 13 High St. died Saturday October 18, 2008 at North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in North Adams, on Jan. 16, 1943, son of the late Richard Gallagher and Evelyn "Pat" Tatro Gallagher. He attended schools in North Adams including the former St. Joseph's High School. He served in US Navy. Mr. Gallagher was last employed by Excelsior Process and Engraving until his retirement in 2007. Before that, he was employed at the former Arnold Print Works and at Berkshire Tanning. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. James was a member of the North Adams Elks Lodge #487. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold-em Poker. He leaves his wife, the former Tracey Wood, whom he married on May 11, 1991 in the First Baptist Church in Adams, one daughter, Breeanne E. Gallagher of Adams, at home. Two sons, Eric R. Gallagher, and his wife, Charmale' of Fredericksburg, Va., James A. Gallagher, and his wife, Brenda of Montague, five Grandchildren- Kia Marie Gallagher, Shannon Joy Cotton, Eric James Gallagher, Richard Theodore Gallagher, and Tranae Elizabeth Gallagher, one great-grandson, Aren Cotton, one sister, Sandra Oleskiewicz, and her husband, William of Lakeland, Fla., three Brothers, Francis Gallagher, and his wife, Dee; and Robert Gallagher, and his wife, Beatrice, both of North Adams; and Brian Gallagher, and his wife, Linda of Adams, nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for James R. Gallagher will be Wednesday Oct. 22, 2008 at 9 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
