Shirley Goff Obituary

Shirley Goff 1937 - 2008 ADAMS Shirley Goff, 71, of 94 East Rd., passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Nathan Adelson Hospice Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Born in Adams on Sept. 20, 1937, daughter of Stanley and Veronica Pytko Ziemba she attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1950. Primarily a homemaker, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams and as a waitress at the Bounti-Fare Restaurant in Adams. Shirley Goff was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams. She was a member of the Adams Outdoorsman for youth, and enjoyed her grandchildren, fishing, picking wild mushrooms, blueberries and also enjoyed polish picnics. She leaves one daughter, Diane McAlister Mickle of Pittsfield. Two sons, Jody B. Goff, of Adams and Michael P. Goff, of Las Vegas, Nev., four brothers, Stanley, Victor and Eugene Ziemba, of Adams, and John Ziemba of Savoy, two sisters, Jeanette Sworzen, of Adams, and Suzanne Norton, of Weaster, N.Y., four grandchildren, Robert Soncini and Alexander Goff of Las Vegas, Nevada, David, and Sabrina McAlister of Pittsfield. Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Bertha Brandley, Alice Witek Rosenberg and Patricia Butterfield. FUNERAL NOTICE: The family honored her wishes for cremation. Private services for immediate family only for Shirley Goff will take place Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams. With the Rev. Mr. Robert R. Moulton, Permanent Deacon of the Catholic Community of Adams, officiating. Friends are welcome to attend the grave side service and burial at 10:45 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery in Adams following services at the funeral home. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Adams Outdoorsman for Youth or Boy Scout Troop 38 in Adams through the funeral home.

Diane, Jody and Michael:
We are saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. I hoped to be able to travel to Adams for the services, but due to prior commitments, I will not be able to do so. I have fond memories of your Mother, and hope she has found the peace she so much deserves.
