To the Cirone Family, I attended Drury High School from 1971 - 1975. I graduated in June 1975. Mr Cirone was one of my teachers. I enjoyed being his student and he won't be forgotten. I am surprised at how fast the years past since it seems like only yesterday. As DHS Class of 1975 Reunion Committee Member I would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to you from our class.

Barb and Family:
Nancy and I were truly saddened when hearing of the death of Roger.
I met Roger many years ago during our elementary school days when we were opponents on the basketball court. We later became teammates and friends while playing ball at Drury High School. Roger was a true competitor and one heck of a football player. With a great big smile I still think of Roger as 140 lbs. of TNT! a phrase coined by a local sportswriter.
Nancy and I also have many memories of you and Roger during your dating years and of course the most important day of you lives, your wedding day.
He will be missed but not forgotten.
Please know that we are thinking of you and have our deepest sympathy.

To the Cirone Family,
So very, very sorry to hear about Roger's passing. I worked in the schools, my kids had him for a Principal and I can honestly say he was the epitomy of a "Leader", a very warm and friendly one at that.
As everyone has said, his smile told all about him. He made an impact on everyone that most people can't and don't do.
My thoughts and sympathy go to you all.

My heart just sank when I heard of Mr. Cirone's passing. He was my Principal at Drury HS from '82-'86 and I remember him as welcoming, accepting, respectful, willing to hear both sides of a story and always fair. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and wasn't afraid to let students get to know him as a person.
My deepest sympathy to the Cirone family. He will be missed.

Dear Barbara, Ida, and the Cirone Family,
I was saddened to learn, just minutes ago, of Roger's passing - having just returned from several days away. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
Many have already testified to his impact on their lives, and that is how one measures a life well lived. I hope it will mitigate your grief, if not your deep sense of loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

While it sometimes seems like just just yesterday that he was teaching history and coaching football, over 30 years has past since we first met. Coach was a terrific and genuine person and one of those rare people to whom many students looked up.
Today I will be out of town and must miss calling hours. But tonight, as I travel, I have arranged to meet up with several great friends in the Class of '75 to joyously remember him.
In football, he frequently told us that we were "dogging it (slacking)." Years later, we learned why he said this - you can't "dog it" in life.
God bless you Coach.

To the Cirone family,
It deeply saddens me to hear the news of your loss. Mr. Cirone was my champion. No matter what the circumstances, he always saw the good kid in me, which was often overlooked by his peers. If not for his guidance, care, and desire for me to achieve, I would not have become the person I am today. He saw everyone for who they were, not for what they were presumed to be, and that made him widely respected and loved by all of his students. What a terrible loss to you and our community. He will always be remembered fondly in my heart.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your husband and father. Mr. Cirone was a wonderful man and a great role model for people. He was well respected in his school and in the Williamstown Community. Mr. Cirone was a remarkable educator and leader, in the finest sense of both words. We did not question that he cared deeply about every student at Drury: in our successes and failures; our challenges and our triumphs. It was evident in his every word, his manner, his humor; and on that necessary occasion, his firm guidance. He will be missed. But moreover, he will be remembered for the unequivocal gentleman who guided us true and cheered us on through our high school years. May God grant him the rest he so richly deserves.

Those who knew Roger were forever touched by his humility and strength. For Barbara and the children, please accept my sincere sympathy. I was blessed to have him in my life, as a friend of my late mother, Barbara Wagner, and her family, my high school principal, and as a wise, compassionate elder. I wonder if he ever knew how much he meant? I know "Mr. Cirone" will still be watching over and cheering us all onward!

Dear Barbara,
I heard of Roger's passing from a newsletter from Justyna (class of 62). I know that words offer little comfort in your grief. It is difficult to feel blessed at such a time.
Having left home shortly after graduation, I have come to realize how fortunate, those of you that chose to live your lives there, were. Our home town is a better place because of that decision.
I pray God comforts you in that knowledge and the memories of the life you shared with Roger. God bless you,

There are just some teachers and principals that you always remember fondly and Mr. Cirone was certainly one of a few. This was a man who always greeted you with a smile and made time for you on personal level. He guided you along the way and saw everyone as an individual and helped you achieve your potential in whatever you decided to do. It is just sad to see this man leave us at a time when most schools could use someone like Mr. Cirone.
Success in life is dependent on many things, having good teachers and school leaders around makes all the difference. He will now get to see the impact he had on the many lives he touched in such a positive way.
My sympathies go out to his family and close friends.
