Theodore Ostrobinski Obituary

Theodore J. Ostrobinski 1921 - 2008 ADAMS Theodore J. Ostrobinski, 86, of 1 Weber St. died Saturday evening, Nov. 22, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Adams on Dec. 22, 1921, son of John and Anna Walach Ostrobinski he attended Adams schools. Mr. Ostrobinski first became a provisional patrolman for the Adams Police Dept. in 1956 and then was appointed a permanent position in 1960, where he served for a total of 30 years, retiring in 1986. He also worked as a part-time employee for the Trotter Pringle Funeral home in Adams for 40 years. A World War II Army Veteran, he served with the Company C, 247th Engineer Combat Battalion serving in the European Theater, including Normandy, France. Mr. Ostrobinski was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. He was a member of Adams Post 160 of the American Legion and the VFW Post 1995. He was also a former member and past president of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Society. His wife, the former Celia Nowak, whom he married Nov. 9, 1946, died February 24, 2004. He leaves two sons, Daniel Ostrobinski and his wife, Cynthia, and Paul Ostrobinski, all of Adams; one sister, Helen Chouinard of North Adams; one grandson, Mark Ostrobinski of Adams; his longtime caretaker, Doreen Bunn, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Stanley, Walter and Daniel Ostrobinski, and by three sisters, Mary Gancarz, Genevieve Morandi and Adella Poplaski. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Theodore J. Ostrobinski will take place Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at 9 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Community of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made the St. Stanislaus School through the funeral home.
