Claire M. Jennings 1914 - 2009 WILLIAMSTOWN Claire M. McMahon Jennings, 95, of 35 Adams Road, formerly of 133 Galvin Road, North Adams, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at her home. She was born in North Adams, on April 15, 1914, daughter of James McMahon and Katherine Learning McMahon. She attended schools in North Adams, graduating from St. Joseph's High School in 1931 and then graduated in 1933 from Bliss Business College. Mrs. Jennings was an office manager at Coakley, Pierpan, Dolan and Collins Insurance Agency in North Adams for over 40 years until her retirement in 1979. She was a long-time resident of the Blackinton section of North Adams and a 75 year communicant of Our Lady of Incarnation Church. After moving to Williamstown she was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She was a member of the St. Francis Rosary Society in North Adams and the Friendship Circle in Williamstown. Mrs. Jennings was married to the late, Milford Jennings on April 14, 1941, at St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown. He died on July 2, 1973. She leaves her daughter, Kathleen Dragon, and her husband, Gerald, of Enfield, Conn. and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased three brothers; John, Daniel and James W. McMahon. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Claire Jennings will take place Friday at 10 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christan Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home Memorial Donations are suggested for the St. Patrick's Church food pantry in care of the funeral home.
