Mrs. Dowdell, who passed away Thursday, July 13, 2009, in Auburn, AL, was born in Lee County, AL.
Public viewing will be Monday, July 27, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include: husband, Edward Dowdell of Auburn, AL; seven children, La'Eric Oliver, Ebony Oliver, Alvin Reese, Jr., Alicia Reese, Ashley Reese, Jarriell Stinson, and Jarnarvious Stinson all of Auburn, AL; mother, Earnestine Oliver of Auburn, AL; father, Johnny Lee Oliver of Opelika, AL; grandmother, Alberta Hand of Auburn, AL; two brothers, Johnny (Muriel) Oliver, and Danny (Mona) Oliver both of Opelika, AL; god-father, Royzell Stephens of Cusseta, AL; five aunts, Annette Hand, Dorothy (Calvin) Robinson, Clara Oliver, Emma Oliver, and Rosie Oliver all of Auburn, AL; four uncles, Willie Frank Hand, Era C. Hand, John Oliver, and Jerome Oliver all of Auburn, AL; three great aunts, Emma Lou Jackson, Ardell Willis, and Lula Floyd all of Auburn, AL; two grandchildren, Emonte Richardson and Tristian Reese; devoted family friends, Archie (Margret) Jackson and Willie (Nellie) Aldridge of Auburn, AL; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lelee no one knows why bad things happen to those so innocent. For right now it will have to remain the painful mystery that it is. Losses like this can make us challenge our faith; however, this is precisely the time when our faith needs to be its strongest.
